De ketelkoppen of ketelverscheiden zijn ontworpen om de leidingen in de buurt van de ketel te vereenvoudigen, de installatietijd, de arbeidskosten en de gebruikte onderdelen te verminderen.Verkrijgbaar in verschillende takken met gegraven inlaat- en uitlaatverbindingen. Alleen voor toepassingen met gesloten schakelverwarming
De druk en temperatuur die de kopstukken moeten weerstaan, zijn afhankelijk van het onderdeel waaraan ze zijn verbonden.Een kop die is aangesloten op een economiser of op waterwandpanelen, is aan minder strenge eisen aan het materiaal onderworpen dan een kop die is aangesloten op superverwarmers of herverwarmers.
